Rachel Albaum is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified LEAP Therapist, Registered Yoga Teacher, and an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner. And, yes there are A LOT of credentials after her name!! But Rachel’s reason behind that is to have as many tools in her toolbox to help others find a solution to better health. With over 19 years of experience and over a thousand clients, her approach to counseling is very individual and provides a safe and compassionate environment. Her mission in life is to use innovative knowledge and her extensive experience to help people achieve lasting wellness.
She received her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Connecticut and completed her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Over the years her resume includes working at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in New Jersey where she covered the cardiac and high risk obstetrics units, then the renal dietitian position at the dialysis center, and the outreach programs for pediatric weight management. Over the past several years she has been blessed to continue to work and grow providing nutrition therapy consultations for a wide range of ages, health concerns, diseases, and other complications in multi-disciplinary doctors’ office settings.
Rachel is fascinated with the mind body connection and the importance of connecting the two to promote overall well being. She continued her studies to become a yoga teacher, received a certification in mindful based eating for binge eating, a certification in food sensitivity testing, and completed her studies and board exam at the Integrative and Functional Nutritional Academy. She combines her love for nutrition, yoga and running, meditation, cooking, and traveling and infuses them into her consults to provide a balanced and “well nourished” approach.
